The 2012 NBA trade deadline is March 15th but in all honesty I truly expected the wheeling and dealing to begin on March 1st: the day that players signed after the lockout could be dealt. Much to my surprise, the first deal that was made was not until March 14th between Milwaukee and Golden State. The expectation and speculation around this year’s deadline has surrounded Orlando’s decision on Dwight Howard and his impending free agency and the possibility of the LA Lakers moving Pau Gasol.
